Career

He started his career as a teacher Dutch at the Royal Athenaeum in Bruges. In 1903, he became a teacher in Mechelen

. As from 1907 he also taught at the theatre class of the Royal Flemish Academy of Antwerp. In 1919 he became Director of the Plantin-Moretus Museum
