Max Cooper (electronica musician)
Encyclopedia
Raised in Belfast and now resident in London, Max Cooper is an electronica
and techno

Like fellow electronica musicians Caribou and Floating Points, Cooper has a PhD; in his case in computational biology from Nottingham University. Until 2010 worked as a post-doctoral genetics researcher at University College London
while producing music at night and touring on weekends .
Now a full-time musician and performer, Cooper has released more than 50 original tracks and remixes. The remixes range from bands like Hot Chip
and Au Revoir Simone
to techno acts such as Agoria and Dominik Eulberg
. He encourages fans to produce their own videos for his music, with the results displayed on his website .
His music has been described as "beautiful, hypnotic techno that should be listened to by anybody with even a passing interest in intelligently geared dance music", his videos as "nifty, yet haunting graphic work" , and the UK's IDJ magazine says he "consistently proves himself to be one of the most peerlessly beautiful recording artists in modern dance music".
