Cauvery River flows through Mayanur. The width of the river is maximum (about 1.5 km) in Mayanur. Hence the river is called Aganda Cauvery (broad Cauvery) in this region. Across this river a new bridge-cum-dam construction is in progress. This bridge is estimated to save the travel distance of 40 km.
