McLaren Electronic Systems is a member of the McLaren Group
that controls Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, a Formula One
racing team and constructor.
The company currently supplies the powertrain control system for McLaren's Formula One
race car, as well as software, ECUs, sensors and components to the other teams on the Formula One grid.
In July 2006, the company was awarded the contract as the official ECU
supplier to the FIA Formula One Championship in 2008, 2009 and 2010.
For 2012, the company will have the same distinction in a system jointly developed with Freescale Semiconductor
