and the older brother of the late punk rock
singer/songwriter/performance artist GG Allin

Merle Allin (or "Pinky" - as he was first known in his Massachusetts days) performed in three main groups that featured GG Allin: Malpractice, The AIDS Brigade and The Murder Junkies
, playing the electric bass guitar
. He currently continues the Murder Junkies, his brother's last backing band, with original drummer Donald "Dino" Saches, and a varying line-up of younger members.
He was also bass player in early Boston punk group Thrills (a.k.a. City Thrills) who released several 7" and opened for acts like David Johansen & The Ramones. He played bass on The Cheater Slicks
