Brothwell was 22 years old when he started hosting the folk show on BBC Radio York in 2005. He championed many Yorkshire based folk artists (nu-folk and traditional) of all ages. As well as playing a broad range of folk styles on the programme, he held 'live sessions' featuring local and touring international acts. He interviewed Nic Jones
