Michael Gordon is an Australian professional rugby league
footballer for the Penrith Panthers
of the National Rugby League
. A New South Wales State of Origin
representative goal-kicking winger he has played his whole career to date with the Panthers. Michael Gordon did his schooling via Kingscliff High School and graduated from Year 12 in 2001.
In the 2009 season, Gordon kicked 23 consecutive goals before missing one. Gordon established himself as the Panthers number one goalkicker in 2009.
Michael Gordon's ability to single handedly tear his opposition ultimately turned himself into a fan favourite. In mid-2010, there were rumours suggesting Greg Inglis would arrive to Penrith at the expense of Michael Gordon due to salary cap resrictions, but after hearing from the fans (such as social websites like Facebook and Twitter), Mick Leary decided to opt with Michael Gordon and eliminating any chance of Inglis coming to Penrith. Gordon has been labelled the 'backbone' in Penrith's outside backs.

Gordon injured his ACL
which would require surgery which would rule him out for the remainder of the season. However there was some hope he could be back if the Panthers made the last few weeks of the 2011 Finals series, in which they didn't, with Penrith finishing 12th on the 2011 NRL ladder.
