Michael Dennis Morgan (born December 19, 1946) is an Olympic
-level rower, who has competed for Australia
. He attended Newington College
(1957-1965). In addition to winning state and national titles he represented Australia as an athlete at two successive Olympics, winning silver at the 1968 Mexico Games. He went on to his third consecutive Olympic representation as Coach of the eight for the 1976 Montreal Games. He is widely ragarded as being in the top ten Rowing Caches in the world, and quite possibly the best in Australia. Morgan was appointed the first professional head coach of the Sydney Rowing Club
and went on to set a record for the most National Championships as a coach in a single year. He is widely regarded as the most successful school coach of the last 25 years. He now coaches the Senior 1st VIII at Newington College.
