Michael "Mike" Schachtner (born November 19, 1986 in Somerset, Wisconsin
) is an American professional basketball
player who plays for CSM Oradea of the Romanian Divizia A professional basketball league. Schachtner played four seasons at the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay and wore the number 43. Primarily a forward, he is listed at 6'8" and 215 lbs.
During his senior season, he averaged 21.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. As a result of his efforts, he was named Second-Team All-State by the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel/WBCA. Schachtner earned an unblemished 4.0 GPA throughout his high school career.
While in his sophomore season at UW — Green Bay, he was an ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA Third-Team Academic All-America selection. He was also the only sophomore to be honored with a Horizon League's Second-Team All-Conference selection. He averaged 14.9 points per game in his sophomore season and ranked sixth nationally in free throw percentage by making over 91% of his free throw attempts.
As a junior, Schachtner was awarded Second-Team Academic All-America honors and was again named a Second-Team All-Horizon League. He scored 15.8 points per game and shot an astounding 90.4% from the free throw line. In a game against Valpo, Schachtner scored 34 points and was a perfect 7 for 7 from three point range.
In his senior season, he averaged 11.8 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.
Schachtner played four seasons with the UW — Green Bay Phoenix from 2005 until 2009. He currently holds the fifth ranking in school history in points with 1667 and tenth all-time in scoring average with 13.1 points per game. He also currently ranks 14th in NCAA College Basketball history since 1998 in career free throw percentage by making 88.8% of his shots from the free throw line over his four year career.

Schachtner attended Somerset High School in Somerset, Wisconsin. He was voted Middle Border Conference Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons.During his senior season, he averaged 21.4 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.
