Michael Sutton is an American actor who is best known for playing the HIV-positive
teenager and AIDS
victim Stone Cates
on the daytime serial General Hospital
. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series in 1996 for that role. Mr. Sutton’s performance was the first to capture the effects of the AIDS virus in real time. Mr. Sutton is active in and contributes to AIDS related charities and awareness. He and his family donated the Atrium at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in New Jersey in 2010. For the past fifteen years Mr. Sutton created a brand marketing company, “brandSUTTON,” a full service marketing and promotions company that promotes brand awareness by integrating a product directly into it’s already existing channel of lifestyle, nightlife and special event programs. Mr. Sutton strives to foster relationships with tastemakers, celebrities and pop culture influencers. Mr. Sutton is a purveyor of restaurants and night clubs (The Lodge Steakhouse, Xenii, Goa, Guys & Dolls). Currently Mr. Sutton is the Chief Marketing Officer for two technology companies Worldvuer and Globa. He has a Bachelors degree in Film Production from Cal State University Northridge 1992. President of Production Ardustry Entertainment 2005. Founding Member of the Next Generation Council for the Motion Picture & Television Fund 2003 though present. Currently promoting and creating Hansel and Gretel's Candy Shop in Burbank, CA.
It was announced that he would return to General Hospital for two episodes in 2010.
