Linden reached further Ulster finals with Down in 1996, 1999 and 2003, in 2003 down where very unlucky in the ulster final in the last minute Peter Cavavan dived in the box and scored the plenty down lost the replay. but the county were beat on each occasion. He retired from inter-county football in 2003 .
