In the past a village called "Militari" existed here, but today they are only few houses left from this time.

The first apartment buildings (with 2,3 and 4 floors) have been built in the 1950s by Communist party workers. Later, in the 1970s and 1980s, most of the present-day blocks of flats (with 8 and 10 flats) have been built.

The district is very compact and it was built using a basic three parallel boulevards-geometry. Militari is packed between Drumul Taberei
