As a child, Au maintained a heavy social calendar, attending events and entrepreneurial outings often hosted by her late father, helping her to learn to mingle in elite social circles, while observing her father promote "Fitness as a Lifestyle". On Valentine’s Day 2007, Mina-Jacqueline Au combined her passion for luxury and love of exotic travels to found Bon-Luxe, a luxury lifestyle online shop.

Outside fo her work, Au serves as a board member on several creative committees of charitable organizations, including the New York Landmarks Conservancy
