Controversies
There are several controversies that have come to light following the withdrawal of three contestants who accused the organizers of far-reaching corruption. Regarding the initial international news, Mr Lawrence Choi, the pageant's chief organiser, said "some participants were not well prepared including Miss Wales. Such factors contributed to the negative outcome." Other issues involve the winner and runner-up for the Korean national portion of MAPW dropping out of the MAPW international portion due to non-contract and prize payout disputes with the organizers, regular models picked to be Korean representatives at the MAPW international portion and the main organizer currently having sent a contents-certified mail to the Daegu organizers asking for reimbursement of hotel fees the main organizers had to pay after contestants were held from leaving the Daegu hotel. (same reference as above, verified to reporter by main organizer). The competition is especially meaningful in the sense that a beauty pageant and a supermodel search into one event is a supertalent competition for discovering future global stars. The pageant was wrong choosing of unprofessional people from main organizers and having the wrong pageant program and disorganized.A waleswoman, Amy Louis Willerton was participanted in this competition and asserted to sexual harassments, no bed, no food and bribed local policemen which had been claimed to be happened at the preliminary in Daegu City. The news reported by Daily telegraph in London and followed by BBC without confirming facts by Korean Main Organizers were false news by the 1st investigation conducted by the Presidential Truth Commission on this competition which they file a lawsuit against BBC and Daily telegraph in London. There was bribery on a local policeman, this claim was revealed to be not-true by checking CCTV at the site. The Korean national police and Daegu Northern police station has sent a formal request on a correction in the news to BBC on October 28, 2011 and BBC corrected that article on November 8, 2011.
