History

The Mississauga Chiefs was founded in 1993 and began in Central Ontario Women's Hockey League  (COWHL). The club played several seasons in COWHL. The Mississauga Chiefs joined the National Women's Hockey League

 (NWHL) in 1998-99. The Team adopted the name Mississauga Ice Bears (2000 at 2003) and after are called the Oakville Ice in 2004-05, 2005–06 and 2006-07. In 2007-08, the club re-organized playing in the Canadian Women's Hockey League
