Mississauga Secondary School offers a full range of courses providing all students the opportunity to obtain a secondary school diploma as outlined in Ontario Secondary Schools Grades 9 to 12, Program and Diploma Requirements, 1999.
The school offers a wide range of programs addressing the needs of all students, whether their destination is the workplace, an apprenticeship, college or university. The curriculum being taught optimizes successful pathways to multiple destinations after high school. The technology programs offered include transportation, manufacturing, hospitality and cosmetology. Students have the opportunity to take courses in broadcast arts as well as traditional visual, musical and dramatic arts. The latest technology is made accessible for both students and teachers so that learning and teaching are enriched. Subjects such as Mathematics, Science, History, Geography and Languages are enhanced with this accessibility to technology. Mississauga Secondary School was Canada's first Secondary School to receive international recognition for its highly effective use of technology. of student success is evident on a regular basis throughout the school year. Character education is inherent in all of the courses taught and is embedded in our code of conduct. The school embraces a culture of pride, respect and responsibility. Students are given the responsibility to take care of their physical environment and common spaces. Connections with family and community are valued and fostered through community outreach programs and take your parents' to school day.
Mississauga Secondary School has also achieved many athletic accomplishments such as 2010-2011 Bantam Boys Basketball ROPSSAA Champions, 2010-2011 Bantam Boys Volleyball ROPSSAA Champions, 2010-2011 Junior Boys Volleyball Champions,and the Senior Boys Volleyball team winning ROPSSAA Gold and coming 3rd place in OFSAA.
