Mistaken Point Ecological Reserve is a reserve located at southeastern tip of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula
. It is one of the world's most significant fossil and geological sites with fossils dated from 575 to 542 million years ago. The area is one of nine sites on the Canadian Tentative list of potential UNESCO World Heritage properties.
