Each nation affiliated with PAMPC can send one male and one female athlete, provided they meet the minimum qualification scores. The remaining positions will be assigned to the nations in the order of their second-placed athlete in the 2010 Pan American Modern Pentathlon Championships in Rio De Janiero, Brazil
