Career
Before taking office at the United Nations, Toihiri held the Chair for French literature and was Senior Lecturer at the University of Comoros. He has been a frequent contributor to Comoros newspapers, the Kashkazi and the Alwatwan, and served as Editor and Chief of Le Comorian, a newspaper written for Comoriens overseas.
