After the duty at the Asian Games, Hardi was selected in the 2007 ASEAN Football Championship
. He played all the matches in the tournament as a starting eleven. He made his first international goal in the semi-final against Singapore
. However Malaysia eventually lost to Singapore in the penalty shootout after drawing the second game in Singapore.
He also chosen to be in the national team for the 2007 AFC Asian Cup

For 2009 Malaysia League, Hardi left Perak FA
and return to his former team Selangor FA
