Group. It was originally launched in 1962 as the Unitholder and later became a part of the FT Business stable. In 2005 FT Business was integrated into Financial Times

Each year the magazine holds the Money Management Financial Planner of the Year awards, which is the highlight of the personal finance calendar for IFAs. The Financial Planner of the Year awards are presented at a black tie dinner at the Dorchester in London every October. The year 2011 marks the 16th annual awards.
In 2010 Matthew Hodge became the first person to win the overall Financial Planner of the Year award twice in a row.
The results of the 2011 awards will be announced on October 6th.
Up to a dozen individual category award winners and runners up are announced, plus the coveted overall winner of the Financial Planner of the Year who receives a £5,000 cash prize and engraved crystal trophy. In 2011 the magazine also introduced a new scholarship award for young financial advisers.
