. It is a mountain located next to the fabled Petit Combin and Grand Combin. Facing the Verbier ski resort and neighbouring the Bruson lifts, it presents a steep north face which has yet not been descended by ski.

First Descent

The first descent of Mont Rogneux's steep north face has never been achieved before, even though it sits facing freeride-Mecca Verbier. Although many have already tried to ski the face, the huge 30 m cliffs at the bottom of the ride and a constant avalanche risk pose an enormous threat to the skiers. Freeride skier Adam Roman, 17 years of age, a local freeskier who calls Bruson and Verbier his home, has decided to take on the challenging face in February 2010. However, he can not afford a ride up the mountain in a helicopter as most skiers do in ski movies, he will have to complete the ascent in the morning, and be ready to ski by 12h00.He will therefore have to climb the mountain in a time limit because the snow warms up in the afternoon, increasing the Avalanche threat. Once on the summit, he will light up two red flares and signal his friends and family to watch his descent with telescopes from Verbier. The complete descent will be filmed by Adam's friends and his brother, Alex. Adam Roman will also be wearing a helmet camera
