Originally opened for business in 1963, Moorestown Mall underwent a partial renovation in 1986 and was totally renovated in 1993 and 1994 after a fire in the northeast quarter of the building.

In 2011, Moorestown Township residents voted to allow liquor sales at the Moorestown Mall in order to increase revenues at the mall. As a result, PREIT is planning on purchasing four liquor licenses and planning on opening new restaurants at the mall.

Redevelopment

The Moorestown Mall lies only 3 miles (4.8 km) away from the Cherry Hill Mall which is undergoing major expansions to accommodate high end stores, but the mall is now undergoing a renovation of its own. As of late, the mall has accumulated a couple of minor, although noticeable vacancies. That is expected to change, however, when the side of the mall facing Route 38
