As of 2010 the school has 800 pupils attending. Morside Primary School is the main feeder school locally with St Peter's C of E Primary School
also being a feeder school in the area.

was approved by Salford council’s ruling Labour cabinet. The Two Schools will be replaced by a new £25m, 1,350-pupil Super-school built on Moorside’s playing fields. The scheme was first proposed in 2006 but had been delayed due to uncertainty about the Building Schools For The Future (BSF) programme.
The planned merger is no longer happening, ‘’’Moorside High’’’ will now have a school built on the fields opposite the school. The work is due to start in 2012 and last for two years, until the new school has been completed.
