History

Morcenx area, bordured with the Bez
Bez (Midouze)

 and it affluents, seems to have been occupied since the Prehistoric time. Have been found there silex tools, domestic fournitures and a cinerary box from the 1st Iron Age.


The church « sanctus Petrus de Morcencz » is mentioned in the Liber rubeus during the 12th century.
