Morocco's Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced the birth of Crown Prince Moulay Al-Hassan in a release on Thursday, May 8, 2003 at 6:40am.

King Mohammed VI decided to name the Crown Prince Moulay Al Hassan, after his own father, King Hassan II (therefore, when and if Hassan succeeds to the throne, it will be as Hassan III).
