Mount Saint Joseph High School, (commonly Mount Saint Joseph , or Mount Saint Joe) is a private, Catholic high school located in Baltimore, Maryland in the community of Irvington. The 33 acres (133,546.4 m²) campus consists of four academic buildings, an athletic field house, and housing for the school's chaplains. It was founded by the Xaverian Brothers

 in November 1876. Today, Mount Saint Joseph is the site of the Xaverian Brothers Generalate, the national headquarters of the Brothers in the United States.

Faculty

The Mount Saint Joseph faculty currently consists of 90 teachers, 5 guidance counselors, and one on-campus chaplain (Father Michael Murphy). The student/faculty ratio is 12:1 and the average class size is 19.

Students

For the 2009-2010 academic year, there are 1,025 students enrolled at Mount Saint Joseph. Students at Mount Saint Joseph represent a wide variety of socio-economic backgrounds and are drawn from a broad geographic area, surrounding and including Baltimore.

Special programs

Mount Saint Joseph has a few special programs to accommodate the needs of all students at the school. The DePaul program is designed for college-bound students with specifically diagnosed mild learning/language disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, or other language-related difficulties.

The Ryken program is designed for students who have received low scores on standardized tests and/or who have struggled in previous academic work.

's mascot, it represents the school's Roman Catholic heritage and was first used in the 1920s, 15 years prior to the first use on Notre Dames campus. That heritage notwithstanding, Mount Saint Joseph College has a religiously and ethnically diverse campus.

Sports

Mount Saint Joseph plays most of its sports including football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, water polo and tennis in the MIAA 'A' Conference against other Catholic and private schools. The most success has come from the soccer program, whose varsity team are defending champions, as well as basketball and volleyball. The soccer team is ranked #1 by the Baltimore Sun.

Mount Saint Joseph sponsors many student-inspired clubs such as chain-mail club, the Beatles club, the anime club, the video game club, and an It's Academic
