The song was released as a single in Japan
in June 1978 and became a hit there following Kate's performance of it at the seventh Tokyo Song Festival at the Nippon Budokan
in Tokyo. She won the Silver Prize of the festival, sharing the honour with American R&B girl group The Emotions
. The festival was broadcast on television and watched by an audience of nearly 35 million. "Moving" subsequently reached number one on Oricon
's International singles chart and was the only worldwide release of "Moving" as an A-side
