. He was closely associated with Nagaiah and acted in his films like Tyagayya, Naa Illu and Ramadasu. He has acted in about 70 films during his career.
Lingamurthy wrote some playlets including Venkanna Kapuram, Pelli Choopulu, Thyagam. They are played widely and won many prizes. Some of them translated to other languages.
He was founder member of Cine Technicians Association. He has held the posts of its Secretory and Chairperson of this Association for sometime. He has taken retirement after his Sashtiabdhapoorthi
celebrations.
After the death of his wife in 1974, he took Sanyasa and spend his last days at Varanasi
. He has died in 1980.
