Municipal Service Car

Municipal Service Car was a concept streetcar being considered by the Toronto Transit Commission
in the 1970s to replace their ageing PCC fleet.
The project began in 1972 and was a co-operation between Hawker Siddeley Canada
and the Toronto Transit Commission
. The vehicle had a bus-like chassis and was somewhat of a low floor vehicle.
In the end the vehicle lost out to the Canadian Light Rail Vehicle
or CLRV made by Ontario Transit Development Corporation (later renamed Urban Transportation Development Corporation
) in 1973.
No vehicles were developed and only concept drawings exists of this vehicle.
