. By the early 2000s it had become the strongest stable in sumo, with a yokozuna, three ozeki and several other top division wrestlers. As of September 2010, it had sixteen sumo wrestlers.

On 30 September 2010 Musashigawa stood down as head coach and was replaced by Fujishima Oyakata, the former ozeki Musoyama, who changed the name of the heya to Fujishima stable.
