Universe. His first appearance was in X-Men vol. 1 #28.

. The character was first mentioned in X-Men vol. 1 #26 (November 1966), and continued to act behind the scenes in X-Men #28-36 (January-September 1967).
The character finally appeared in person in X-Men #37-39 (October-December 1967), in which he died. The Mutant Master was depicted in flashback in Thunderbolts #33 (December 1999) and X-Men: Legends "Diary of a Hollow Man".
. He was also a member of the Siris race and once on Earth he posed as mutant
human. He secretly sought to trigger a war between the USA and what was then known as the USSR to wipe out the human race. However, his followers turned against him when he was exposed as being an alien, and to avoid capture he committed suicide.
