UK garage punk
quartet My Deaf Audio emerged in the late 1990s from the thriving Southcoast scene. With vocalist Andy Reed, guitarist Lofty Fiasco, bass player Nick Moss, and Mike Wilton on drums, Debuting with their self released Bitter Pill EP in 1999, closely followed by 2001s Make It Loud LP, MDA signed to Lockjaw Records in 2003 and went on to release the Got a Friend Ep and their second full length Night Drive-in.
My Deaf Audio toured Europe constantly for the next few years with acts such as, The (International) Noise Conspiracy

, Rocket from the Crypt
& Midtown
. MDA spent a lot of time in Sweden and Norway, and we're heavily influenced by the rock 'n' roll movement happening in Scandinavia at that time. The band were heading in a different musical direction and decided to leave Lockjaw Records in search of a new label. In February 2005 they recorded a new mini album My Deaf Audio Are the New Black, on Bivouac Records. The EP was widely received and gained rave reviews and the airplay it deserved. Sadly this was to be the last material MDA recorded to date.
After a show with Italian friends forty winks
in Bologna
in 2005 MDA stated they are on hiatus. They confirmed they still have albums of material still to record and have played together a few times but will not reform and tour for the foreseeable future. In the summer of 2008 MDA played a Nada Surf
& Weezer
cover night with long standing friends Poindexter for the Burma relief charity in Brighton. The night was a resounding success which saw the band switch instruments for the entire set.

The band still remain very close friends and play football and basketball together regularly. They have however gone their separate ways musically. August 2011 saw the birth of a new sideproject featuring Nik and Lofty. the band are called Has Left The Building, and take influence from artists such as Explosions in the sky & Russian Circles. Live shows and a free digital release are expected early 2012. www.facebook.com/hasleftthebuildingband
