My Dying Day is a short video documentary produced and directed by filmmaker Courtney Fathom Sell
in 2006.
Reverend who had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer
years before. Initially given only two months to live, Sell went on to outlive such predictions by nearly seven years. The documentary features various interviews
with the main subject throughout the last months of his life, as well as scenes of Sell planning out his own funeral, plotting his grave site, and comforting those who also live in Hospice
care.
Originally titled 'Heaven is my Last Resort', the documentary was re-titled along with being re-edited before its release. While the original version of the film runs nearly 45 minutes in length, the final cut of 'My Dying Day' runs approximately 10 minutes.
Filmmaker Courtney Fathom Sell is the son of Main Subject Bradley Sell, and was asked by his late Father to put together a film on his struggle with cancer in order to raise awareness.
and has been screened across the country at various festivals and events. The Filmmaker has presented the documentary at various venues across the country including the Landmark Kendall Square Cinema in Boston, Massachusetts.
