This was also the location of the January 10, 2008 presidential primary debate. Six presidential hopefuls attended the debate, including Ron Paul, which was broadcast by Fox News.

Starting in 2009, it will be the primary headquarters for the Bi-Lo Myrtle Beach Marathon, after moving around hotels during its first eleven years.
