NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship

The NWA Canadian Heavyweight Championship was the top singles title in Maple Leaf Wrestling
from 1978 until 1984, when it was abandoned after the Toronto promotion partnered with the WWF
. The title was reinstated as the present-day, NWA
Board-controlled version of the NWA Canadian Heavyweight title. Previous versions also existed in Calgary, Halifax and Vancouver. The current champion is Tony Baroni, who is in his first reign.
Note: Angelo Mosca won the title back on January 22, 1984 but he then vacated the title sometime in March 1984.
Note: Angelo Mosca, Jr. won the title on June 10, 1984, but the title was abandoned sometime in July 1984 when Maple Leaf Wrestling was bought by the World Wrestling Federation
. This made Mosca, Jr. the last champion until Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling
revived the title in 1998.
Note: Crusher Carlsen beat Michelle Starr on November 27, 1999 but the title was vacated sometime in September 2000.
