. The title was formerly defended in the NWA Mississippi promotion from its inception in 1999 through 2002, and since 2002 has been in NWA Battle Zone Championship Wrestling, its current home promotion, which is based in Magee, Mississippi
. The current champion is Bryan Rival who won it on February 5, 2011.
