Nahliel is an Haredi
communal settlement
in the West Bank
. Located around twenty kilometres from Modi'in, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Binyamin Regional Council. In 2006 it had a population of 278. The international community considers Israeli settlements in the West Bank illegal under international law, but the Israeli government disputes this.
The village was established in 1984 by the Agudat Israel Workers
movement, and was named after the biblical
city of Nahaliel and a book by Isaac Breuer
