For the 1999 elections he was placed sixth on the National Religious Party list, but missed out on a seat when they won only five mandates. However, he entered the Knesset on 15 July 1999 as a replacement for Yitzhak Levy

He lost his seat in the 2003 elections.

Biography
Langental studied law at university, gaining an LLB. He also studied history and the history of Israel, gaining a BA.
