to postsecondary education, including professional school counselors, college access counselors, admission and financial aid officers, and others. NACAC states that it is committed to maintaining high standards that foster ethical and social responsibility among those involved in this transition process.
A member-directed organization, NACAC is governed by its voting members — an assembly of delegates (elected by voting members in NACAC's state and regional affiliates). The leadership, whose primary purpose is to provide direction for NACAC's professional policies, consists of a Board of Directors, standing committees and ad hoc committees who lend their expertise and experience as the association addresses issues, creates programs and maintains governance.
NACAC holds several annual professional development events, including a national conference, and runs the National College Fairs program, which directly connect high school students with a wide variety of postsecondary institutions.
