is an amalgamation of Army, Navy, Air force, Police and the Fire Cadet in the country.
It came into establishment in 2002 under the ministry of Education, presently Ministry of Youth and Sports.

History

The Cadet Corps, Ghana was first established in 1954 at the Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS), Takoradi in the Western Region (with just a handful of student cadet). Currently the Corps has membership school strength of about two hundred and twenty three (223) and a numerical strength of about twenty three thousand three hundred and eighty (23,380) in all the ten regions of the country.

The national cadet corp has the following as its command and administrative structures.
  • His Excellency the President - Commandant In Chief of the Cadet Corps
  • His Excellency the Vice President - Deputy Commandant In Chief of the Cadet Corps
  • Minister of Education and Sports - Patron of the Cadet
  • Minister for Defence - Patron of the Cadet
  • Deputy Minister for Education and Sports - Deputy Patron of the Cadet

  • Sectoral Headquarters
  • Regional Headquarters
  • District Headquarters
  • Schools Cadet Corps

Ranks

The senior most cadet in an institution uses the following ranks;
  • SUO [ Senior Under officer ] - Officer Commanding the school
  • JUO [ Junior Under Officer ] - Second In Command
  • OC [ Officer Commanding ] - Adjutant
  • CDT WOI
  • CDT WOII
  • CDT S/SGT
  • CDT SGT
  • CDT L/CPL
  • CDT CPL
  • CDT PRIVATE

The other ranks structure is equivalent to the various security services' ranks. Whereas the officers ranks remain the same.
