Brief history
- 1895 Established
- 1920 Names was changed to 臺灣總督府臺北師範學校
- 1922 February A student did not walk on the left side of the road, caused a Japanese police to threaten with sword. Called the Sword Event (Chienese: 拔刀事件).
- 1924 November 19 Taiwanese Student fought with Japanese student, but the school was biased for the Japanese and punished 36 Taiwanese students.
- 1927 School was split into two.
- 1943 School combined to the original.
- 1945 Name was changed to 臺灣省立臺北師範學校.
- 1961 Name was changed to 臺灣省立臺北師範專科學校.
- 1987 Name was changed to 臺灣省立臺北師範學院.
- 1991 Name was changed to 國立臺北師範學院.
- 2005 Name was changed to the current name National Taipei University of Education.
