Many bones of an ice age mammoth
were found by Nevljica river in this village in 1938. These bones, remains of a reindeer and one small Paleolithic tool made of stone were all found at this site and were dated to around 20,000 — 18,000 B.C.. A bridge, built on this spot was named Mammoth bridge (Slovene: Mamutov most). Old village people still remember the excavations that attracted even foreign researchers and scientists, and they tell this story to their grandchildren.
