congregation. While the community's first school was founded in its early years, the building was replaced by a substantial two-story
structure in 1870; it in turn was replaced by a larger built in 1897.

living together, 7.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 30.5% were non-families. 25.6% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.38 and the average family size was 2.81.
In the village the population was spread out with 24.0% under the age of 18, 8.2% from 18 to 24, 28.0% from 25 to 44, 23.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.5% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 94.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.9 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $33,625, and the median income for a family was $44,531. Males had a median income of $34,545 versus $25,272 for females. The per capita income
