Later, New Wave and Shakedown participate in a kidnapping scheme gone wrong, as the parents are unable to pay the ransom. Shakedown is ordered to kill the victim, a young girl and refuses. New Wave uses her water powers to drown him. Batman and the Justice Society of America
rescue the girl before New Wave could harm her.
Shakedown has possibly resurfaced, it is not known if this is the exact person New Wave has seemingly killed.
