The New York Buzz was a professional tennis team competing in World Team Tennis
. The team was based in Albany, New York
, and played home matches at SUNY Albany's SEFCU Arena, previously playing at the Washington Avenue Armory
. Earlier, the team played at Schenectady
's Central Park. They competed in the league from 1995 through 2010. The Buzz played in the Eastern Conference of the WTT Pro League. In 2008, the team won their conference championship, and went on to defeat Kansas city to capture their first WTT Championship.
On February 14, 2011, it was announced that the New York Buzz and New York Sportimes
merged and will play the 2011 season as the New York Sportimes. As part of the deal, two home matches will be played in Albany, NY during the 2011 season.
