New York Foundation for the Arts

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) was created in conjunction the New York State Council on the Arts in 1971. The organization gives grants to individual artists and writers and developing arts organizations with a mission to 'empower artists at critical stages in their creative lives.'

Other programs include Building Up Infrastructure Levels for Dance (BUILD) grants, the New York Theater Program, and Strategic Opportunity Stipends. NYFA also has a Learning program which includes NYFA MARK, a multi-week business-of-art program for visual artists in New York State, NYFA Boot Camp for artists, and The Immigrant Artist Project, which provides Mentorship, exhibition opportunities, information, and resources to artists born outside the U.S. and newly working in NYC.
NYFA's Programs
NYFA supports artists in New York State and nationwide through a wide range of programs including re-granting programs such as Artists Fellowships 7,000 unrestricted grants to artists made in 16 disciplines), the organization's signature program.
