Academics

Newark Elementary educates about 1/3 of the district's Pre-K through 4th graders. The 4K- 2nd graders are split between Newark and Footville. 2nd graders that attended Footville head to Orfordville for 3rd-6th grades. Newark kids remain at Newark through 4th grade before joining their classmates at Orfordville for 5th and 6th grades.

Possible Closure

Newark has been looked at for a long time as a candidate to close due to declining enrollment and Newark's distance from the rest of the district. The Parkview school board voted in November 2011 to close Newark and Footville Elementary Schools within the next few years. It will either close for the 2012- 2013 year or for the 2013- 2014 year.
