Esbati argued that even if Newsmill publishes articles from a variety of political perspectives, from high-ranking politicians to unknown writers, on the other hand outspoken reactionaries had found themselves a "playground" on the internet in Newsmill. He described Newsmill as "sensational opinion-production" and "a cynical and tendentious brutalization of the debate".

Esbati indicate that the day before the nomination was announced Newsmill had removed the article "The Revolution against Evolution", after a disclosure that it was a fake. A little later Newsmill also removed an article by Swedish neo-Nazi Björn Björkqvist in which he attacked the anti-racist magazine Expo

. However, these events prompted the site to develop a new policy, in which only "writers who have private or professional experience" are published.

Other information

On Newsmill one can buy editorial space in the section titled "Seminars", which are displayed with a pink background. Thus 100,000 Swedish Kronor per week can guarantee publication.
