The Nguru Mountains are a mountain

. The mountains are predominantly covered with rainforest
, are abundant with 83 species of bird life (Romdal 2001), and are the home of African violets. There are a number of forest reserves in the mountains.
The Nguru Mountains form the beginning of the rim mountain range which continues through Ussagara
and Uhehe and extends to the Nyassa
. Parts of the range rise to 2130 metres. The main outflow of water from the mountains is via the Wami River
.
